Founder
Jack is a Chartered Civil Engineer with extensive experience delivering the design of a wide range of schemes from single units to multi-million pound strategic developments. Prior to starting Moss, Jack worked at numerous reputable design consultancies up to Director level and is therefore well positioned to provide a balanced approach to design solutions.
Jack’s experience includes Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports for submission to the Local Planning Authority (LPA) and Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA), detailed private and adoptable drainage and external works designs, alongside tender and construction packages. This work often involves obtaining approvals including BOSA, S106, S185, S104, S278, S38 and traffic regulation orders from sewer and highway authorities.
In recent years, Jack has been involved in a number of investigative and insurance claims, acting as the expert for the Client. This work often involves detailed analysis of the pre-development conditions, design, installation and claimed failure, summarised by appropriate reporting and acting as expert when requested by Counsel.
Jack contributes to the profession through engagement with the University of Greenwich as Chair of their Industry Advisory Board and guest lecturer on the subject of sustainable drainage. He is also a member of the Kent and East Sussex Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Branch and undertakes professional reviews for prospective chartered and incorporated engineers on behalf of the ICE, for both UK and Hong Kong candidates.
